The Dragons Women's team visit Wismar
Last weekend, the Düsseldorf Dragons headed north to take part in the national rugby tournament in Wismar. Under the motto 'Sailors and Max' – our coach dressed as a real captain, complete with cap and jacket in true Traumschiff style – we sailed to the Hanseatic city full of anticipation.
In sporting terms, the tournament was a bit of a headwind: we were defeated in all four games. But anyone who knows us knows that the Dragons don't let that get them down. We fought as a team, stuck together and showed some really strong rugby at times. Lots of great moves, spirited tackles and a huge dose of team spirit: that's what we're taking away with us!
Off the pitch, we conquered Wismar in our own unique way. In glorious sunshine, we went swimming in the Baltic Sea – a real cool-down after a long day of tournament play. The atmosphere was fantastic throughout, not least because of our magnificent sailor outfits, which kept everyone in good spirits both on and off the pitch.
A huge thank you goes to our hosts in Wismar for the great organisation and warm atmosphere. We would also like to thank our two pool players from HRC – it was great to have you there, you supported us wonderfully!
Conclusion: Even though we didn't come home with any trophies this time, it was a great tour with lots of laughter, team spirit and new memories. Wismar, we'll be back – with sunshine in our hearts and maybe a few victories under our belts!
Düsseldorf Dragons – Ahoy!
