Good start for the Dragons!

This Saturday, the Düsseldorf Dragons senior men's team was hosting its first official game of the season against the SG Rheinland team.

The game started with a strong Düsseldorf attack that quickly brought the team to score its first try in the first minutes of the game. Motivated by this quick success, the Düsseldorf team continued to play strong and defend well, giving only one chance to their opponents to cross the try line. At the end of the first half, the score was 21-7 for the Dragons.
At the beginning of the second half, the hosting team showed a different face. The Rugby structure was not there anymore, a few handling mistakes and a few penalties combined with the strong work of the SG Rheinland team lead them to score twice and come back to an even score of 21-21 after 20 minutes. But the Dragons were not ready to let that one go. With the support of the substitute players, the team pulled together again and scored 15 points in the last 20 minutes to end the game with a 36-21 win.

Congratulations to all players for this good start. The game showed that the Düsseldorf players still need to work on various aspects of the game, but the team can count on its solid foundations, its experienced coaching team and its motivated players to do better.
