A busy week-end for the Dragons against and in Bonn
On Saturday, The Düsseldorf Dragons were hosting their second home game of the season against the Rugby Club Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. The Dragons started the game well by opening the scoring with a first converted try after 8 minutes in the game. But the Bonn players did not let them lead the game long and caught back with a try and a conversion. Both the Dragons and the Bonn players managed to score again two tries and one conversion in the first half to end it with a draw of 19 points for each team.
It is the Bonn team that started the second half with a try that they managed to convert. The Dragons also scored one try, but did not succeed with the conversion. Despite the hard fight from both teams, no other points were scored and the game ended with a loss for the hosts of 24 to 26 points.
Congratulations to the Bonn players who managed to successfully challenge the Dragons on their pitch. The Dragons now have to work to make sure that this loss was a on time event in the season and that they get back on a winning track right from the next game.

On the same day, our U14 players travelled to Bonn for their second game day of the season. Due to the number of players, the Dragons joined a mixed team with the players of Köln and Bonn and challenged another mixed team combining players from Aachen and Maastricht in an interesting game with 15 players on each side. Congratulations to the Aachen/Maastricht team which was the best on the pitch. Our young players learned a lot from that experience and will definitely continue to work to try to b successful in the next tournament.
On Sunday, our U10 and U12 players also travelled to Bonn for their first tournament of the season. The U10 had two game to play and managed to end at the second place. Our U12 players were combined with players of Köln to play against the mixed team of Aachen and Bonn. The Dragons/Köln team won this very challenging game with some very interesting plays. All in all, this tournament has been a promising start for the rest of the season of the Düsseldorf young players.
