The RC Bonn beats the Dragons by only two points

Cover-News-99

Last weekend our senior team went to Bonn hoping to come back with their first win of the season. The RC Bonn was looking to make a statement, to let everyone know that they were the better team.

Our team, consisting of 1/3 of new players, accepted that challenge with head high, wanting to prove that the hard work and trainings of the last months paid off.

During the first half, both teams showed discipline and structure. It was a hard battle with both teams being very aggressive and physical. No tries were scored, Düsseldorf Dragons managed to get the advantage at the end of the first half with a score of 3/0, capitalising on a successful kick scored by Paul Nollot.

During the break, the second half looked promising. Yet, even with the water breaks given from the referee, the fatigue due to the heat was starting to be felt. Bonn took advantage of it and scored their first try. The battle continued, the last 10 minutes the scored was 8-6 for Bonn. Both teams fought valiantly, exhausted from the heat and effort, yet the Dragons were unable to get more points on the scoreboard.

Bonn were wonderful hosts, even after the loss, both teams left the pitch with smiles on their face, all honour to them for the win. It was a hard-fought battle. The senior team came home with few injuries and with a bigger motivation to get better as a team.

The training sessions started again are looking promising, and your senior team is getting ready for their next opponent, the RC Walferdange at home on October the 28th. We hope to see you there to help us defend "our" colours.
