The Dragons women's team hosts the first tournament of the season

On Saturday, 02.09.2023, the first women's 7s rugby tournament the of the Liga West took place in Düsseldorf.
The guests were the RFC Dortmund, the Eintracht Frankfurt and RSV Köln. In addition, three pool players also volunteered to fill up and support Dortmund and us. Many thanks to Hanna, Charlotte and Kris!

The opening match was an exciting contest between the RSV Köln and us as hosts. Köln started strong and scored a try early on. In the second half, however, Düsseldorf stepped up and scored two tries by Yvonne and Charlotte. Köln won the game with a final score of 10:38.

Intermediate games:
Dortmund vs. Eintracht Frankfurt with a final score of 12:5 for Dortmund.
Köln vs. Eintracht Frankfurt with a final score of 22:0 for Köln.

Our second game was against the Dortmund Divas. Unfortunately, luck was not on our side. Dortmund scored several tries against us. At the beginning of the second half, two of our players got injured in a friendly fire and had to step out for the rest of the tournament. The game ended with a score of 41:0 for Dortmund.

After a short break, the Dragons went into the last game against Frankfurt. Despite a rebuilt attitude, fatigue from the first two games and the hot weather made themselves felt. Another injury on our part interrupted the game for a short time before Frankfurt scored and won the game with a final score of 41:0.

We wish all our players and pool players a full and speedy recovery.

Köln won the last match of the tournament with a score of 26:0 against Dortmund. This leaves the Dragons as the only team to score tries against Köln.
